December.29.2010 Review in the December Issue of ARTnews The Spyfrost Project exhibition at DNJ Gallery, Los Angeles, was reviewed in the December issue of ARTnews magazine. Here's an excerpt: "Throughout the show, Trautrimas provided stark yet creative combinations of silvery structures and vast, unpopulated landscapes. An observant viewer could take pleasure in the tiny details, such as a perfectly integrated door and a glint of reflected green in an expanse of silver. Blending humor and terror, the work renders the Cold War era as a time when bold esthetics went hand in hand with a prevailing sense of menace." December.3.2010 Sweet Sediment Public Art Installation Here's a couple pics of my first public art installation, titled "Sweet Sediment" that I recently installed in the Corus Quay Building, Toronto Canada. It uses sugar from the local Redpath refinery to create a fictional core sample that traces the industrial history of the Toronto waterfront.

December.2.2010 Whodunit? 2010 Multiple Here's an image of the 2010 Multiple I designed for the 2010 Whodunit? fundraiser at OCADU. The official description as follows: The 2010 Multiple, "Post House", produced with the invaluable assistance of the Rapid Prototyping Lab at OCAD University, features a snap-fit, three-dimensional model that echoes the evolution of Trautrimas' practice from analog to digital production methods, marrying new production technologies with the playfulness of the snap-fit wooden model.
